September 6th “BUG” MATCH

 There will be a non-official IDPA match at First Coast IDPA at Gateway Rifle and Pistol club in Jacksonville on Saturday September 6, 2008. This match is for BUG’s or “Back-Up-Guns.” This match will follow the same format as one held earlier this year which was very well received. For shooters who don’t have a “BUG”…you may shoot the match as well (see # 4 below).

 The rules of the match will be based-upon those of IDPA, with some differences such as shooters will be expected to reload their BUG’s as needed. For a definition of what constitutes a BUG, see www.idpa.com. Each shooter will be expected to document on their own score sheet:

1.)    If they are using a BUG and exactly what make/model it is;

2.)    What division their BUG would fall under, such as SSP or CDP, etc. Note: for revolver shooters: those with 5 round capacities will be in the SSR division and those with 6 round capacities will be in the ESR divisions;

3.)    Each shooter will list their classification as whatever their highest classification is in any division of IDPA.

4.)    Any shooter who does not list if they have a BUG (and shooters may participate without one, if they don’t have one) or fail to list their division or classification will be listed under a generic listing of “all others” which will be listed from fastest to slowest results. All those shooters who do list the requested info will be listed under the appropriate division and classification.

 No shooter will be required to have a holster for their firearm from which to draw at the start of each stage because all stages will start with the shooter retrieving their firearm.  However, each shooter must have the capability to reload their firearm during the course of fire, as needed. Reloading will be by any IDPA-legal method. A secure and safe method to transport an UNLOADED firearm to and from the firing line MUST be provided by the shooter. This may be accomplished by use of a holster or a zippered pistol rug, or a case that will close and securely latch.

 We will have at least 5 Courses of Fire and a lot of fun! Match fees will be the same as our regular monthly matches. Concealment garments will not be required. Please come out and join us by 0830, or earlier if you can help us set up the props. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 Thank you,

 Ed Sevetz, Match Director
